Mind Body Green had a little article about meditation as a Type A personality. It had some decent tips that I have already been incorporating into my burgeoning practice.
I have started a “daily” meditation practice each morning (I use quotations only because it has been a less than daily practice up to this point). As one makes transitions in their personal and professional life it is important to remember that it is a process, and not everything will become 100% effective and on point the instant you START to make changes in your life.
Remember that whenever you decide to make a positive change in your life, you have to be comfortable with the idea of progression and not walk into it with a cold turkey, quick fix, or get rich quick attitude. In some cases (i.e. quitting smoking) cold turkey can work, but for more generalized changes – you have to take one step at a time, and one day at a time in order to achieve the long term results you are looking for.
